I expect I'll get at least a decade out of this shed, which is plenty reasonable for the price. That said, I did some extra things to maximize its lifespan. First, I affixed it to a sturdy foundation-- upcycled railroad ties joined by angle brackets; also used those for the floor joists, spaced 22" apart. Second, I used nice, 1/2" plywood for the floor (the kit does not come with flooring), which I fastened to the foundation and joists with 3" torque screws & washers, which reminds me: use a power drill. Don't bother with the included tools. They're junk.Assembly of the shed itself was a bit of a pain. Occasionally, the pre-drilled holes on adjoining parts wouldn't line up, only half the fasteners required for assembly were provided, and there were a few steps in the instructions that must not have been updated with the addition of new parts, leaving my helper & I to improvise (yes, you will need two people, at least one of whom has built stuff before, to assemble this). I was able to match the fasteners I was shorted with affordable, satisfactory aftermarket alternatives, but it still made for an extra trip. All these challenges made assembling the shed a 6 hour ordeal--twice as long as the manufacturer's estimate. Also, despite being "thicker" metal sheeting, relative to competitors, it still feels kind of flimsy. I don't recommend leaning heavy items against the siding or climbing on the roof. It also bears noting that, being a metal shed, this sucker gets hot on sunny days. I might remediate this later with a less conductive roof material & insulation, but it's not a priority at the moment, being just for basic storage.In short, if you have some building experience, extra materials, and a willing friend who's also handy, this shed is absolutely worth the price.
